Our story began in 1992 when Søren Gønge, drawing on years of experience with logistics giants like TNT and UPS, founded DANX. His vision was simple yet ambitious: to build a company dedicated to quality, service, and unwavering reliability. The name itself, DANX – short for Day And Night Express – perfectly captured this commitment.

It quickly became clear that in-night distribution demanded such high standards of precision and dependability that it required a singular focus. DANX rose to the challenge, becoming a pioneer in Denmark as the first dedicated in-night distributor of spare parts. Soon, major companies with critical servicing responsibilities – from car manufacturers and white goods providers to the IT industry – recognised the great benefits of partnering with DANX, especially our consistent promise of 99.5% on-time performance.

Expanding our European footprint

Our ambition to grow beyond Denmark took a significant step forward in 2003 when Bob Thorhauge joined DANX as a major shareholder, bringing a strategic focus on expanding our service logistics across the Nordics. That very year, we established distribution flows to Sweden, welcoming Philips Healthcare and Jungheinrich as our first customers. By 2004, our network extended to Norway, partnering with Phillips Healthcare and IT giant DELL. Our commitment to the entire Nordic region solidified in 2008 with the establishment of distribution flows to Finland.

The expansion continued, and in January 2015, DANX further broadened its reach into the Baltics, covering Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Our unique focus on logistics solutions for these key Northern European regions led to DANX becoming the first logistics company to join ISLA, the International Service Logistics Association, an OEM-driven industry organisation.

A new chapter: DANX Carousel Group

A new era for DANX began in January 2020 with Klaus Rud Sejling joining as CEO of the DANX Group. Then, in January 2022, a pivotal moment arrived: we welcomed Axcel as our lead investment partner and teamed up with Carousel Logistics. This strategic merger, completed in March 2022 following regulatory approval, created the DANX Carousel Group, positioning us as a strongly positioned, pan-European in-night logistics provider.

Our commitment extends beyond business. In 2023, the DANX Carousel Group launched its own funding initiative: the DANX Carousel Foundation. This foundation embodies our dedication to promoting positive social impact, both within our business and in the communities around us. Supporting learning, development, charitable causes, and local projects, the foundation aligns with our group’s three core values: caring, learning, and ownership.
